Tricolour Quinoa is made up of red, white and black quinoa and dates back to the Incas, this grain is still grown in Bolivia and Peru. Quinoa is a versatile grain that is naturally low in fat and a great source of protein that can be used to enhance taste and texture in various dishes such as stews and soups. Ideal as an alternative to rice. While quinoa is considered to be a whole grain, it is actually a seed, but can be prepared like wholegrains such as rice or barley. The taste is mild, and the texture firm and slightly chewy.
